JC - Junior Church

Well, if you’re aged between the age of 3 and 11 years and enjoy lots of fun and laughter then Junior Church could be for you.

We meet at 10am in the Community Hall (which is joined onto the church) and our purpose is to support all children as they take their very first steps learning about Jesus in a fun, exciting and safe environment.

We use a mixture of teaching, prayer, craft activities, cooking and fun worship songs each time we meet.

Every session is based on a theme - for example, the Good Shepherd, Feeding of the 5000, and Doubting Thomas. We all start together for a welcome, song and prayers then we split into groups appropriate to the children’s own age for activities.

At the end of each session the groups come together to share what we have learned before going into Church for the final part of the service together with a Blessing, if this is what the child wishes.

Pathfinders

Any young person from age 11 – 14 is more than welcome to come and have fun.

We meet in the Webber Hall (next to the Church) for an opportunity to talk about the challenges of becoming a young today, using  Bible-based discussions and other activities.

A few times a year we have a film night or go bowling and get away a couple of times a year for a long weekend of ‘indoors camping’ to just chill and have a fun time together.

Substance

Substance is for teenagers between 14 and 18.  Our aim is to allow you to meet in relaxed surroundings, allowing you to express and develop your feelings and, maybe a developing faith.

We have committed members who take a full part in sessions and church life.  We meet 3 Sunday mornings per month and hope the group members want to come along to the Morning Praise and Worship for All services each month.

We run socials to Charrington Bowl for an afternoon of fun and fellowship and have a couple of weekends away to chill, play mad games, have fellowship together and generally have fun.

Some children and young people prefer to come to church without wanting to belong to a group.  This isn't a problem.

OTHER YOUTH GROUPS

Seedlings

We’ve been running for over 20 years now, welcoming all children under five with their Parents and Carers.

We meet on alternate Wednesday mornings between 9.30am and 11.00am in the Webber Hall (at the back of the church meadow) and charge just 50p per child per session.  There’s no membership – just come along.

Parents and Carers have a chance to chat over a cup of tea or coffee whilst the little ones have the chance to play with a selection of toys and enjoy each other’s company.  For further information contact the Church Office.

Quench

Quench offers time together for 11 to 18 year olds and meets on the fourth Sunday of the month between 7 & 9.30 pm in the Community Hall.

The evening is aimed to enable young people to explore their Christian faith in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. On arrival there is a time for chat, a game on the Wii and a visit to the tuck shop. This is followed by a time of worship, teaching and praise led by our own youth band, with a final period of chat with friends before leaving.

All the leaders and helpers within our Children and Youthwork have a current CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check.  If you wish to find out more
