Contact
the Church Office
Sometimes people are in unusual circumstances or think that
the church wouldn't be interested, it's worth contacting us.
We promise that we won't be judgmental and we will do
everything we can to help you have the day you dream of.
However you come to All Saints we hope that you will always
feel welcome.
The
Marriage service is an act of worship and will need planning
in detail long before the big day. This page is mainly about
how to book a service.
To
be married at All Saints:
BANNS OF
MARRIAGE:
Banns
are an announcement of your intention to marry and a chance
for anyone to put forward a reason why the marriage may not
lawfully take place.
Banns need
to be read in the Parish where each of you lives as well as
the church in which you are to be married, if that is
another Parish.
You must have
your Banns read out in church for three Sundays (during our
10.00am Service at All Saints) during the three months
before the wedding. This is often done over three
consecutive Sundays, but does not have to be.
Most couples try to get along to hear their Banns
being read at least once. Normally, one of you will live
in our Parish (please see the map to check if your road is
showing). There is no
need for the dates of calling the Banns to be the same in
both churches.
FLOWERS:
You can
chose to either arrange for flowers yourself or through Pat
George, our Flower Co-ordinator. Pat will be pleased to
give you advice, this being particularly important in case
there is more than one wedding on the same day.
BELLS:
All
Saints has a set of eight hand rung chimes. If you would
wish them rung, this can be arranged (subject to
availability) through Ian, our Vicar.
SEATING:
All
Saints seats between 90 and 100 people. We can also supply
about 30 extra seats if necessary.
DISABLED
ACCESS AND SEATING:
Disabled
guests are accommodated easily within the body of the
church. Disabled access is via the Community Hall entrance
(joined directly to the church). We have a toilet for
disabled use. Unfortunately, we don't have a wheelchair
available. Please make sure Ian, our Vicar, is aware that
you might have a guest who will want to use this entrance.
SERVICE
SHEETS:
Although
not necessary, you are welcome to bring your own
individualised service sheets. Don't forget that you will
need to organise the layout and printing with a printer in
plenty of time.
CONFETTI:
Confetti is
permitted.
PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO:
Photographs are not permitted during the service itself.
Your official photographer is
welcome to take photos during the signing of the Registers
and as the couple come down the aisle on leaving the church.
Please Note: Photographs are not permitted during the
service itself.
An
Official Video is permitted from a fixed point only, agreed
with the Vicar before the actual day of the ceremony. Due
to Copyright laws, an extra fee has to be levied.
HYMNS AND
MUSIC:
The
service provides for up to three hymns/songs. The Vicar
will put you in contact with the Organist/Pianist if you
wish. A hymn book can be borrowed upon request, to help you
make your choice of songs. A choir is available, subject to
availability.
THE
MARRIAGE SERVICE:
The format of
your Wedding Service will be discussed with you when you
meet with Rev. Ian.
PARKING:
All
Saints Church has a car park adjoining the church and hall
available for use by your wedding guests. There is usually
some parking in the side streets near the church should
there be insufficient parking on-site.

As with
most things in life, there are fees attached to getting
married in Church. You will be given a detailed list
of the fees at your first interview. Most of these are set by the Church of
England's Table of Parochial Fees.
