To my church-family-to-be!
I just wanted to send you all a short note to say how delighted I was when I received the phone call offering me the opportunity to come and be your new vicar.
As many of you know I came to visit on the Sunday before the interview and I was struck by how delightful, friendly and caring you all were.
I really enjoyed the Tuesday when I was able to meet so many of you across the day and in the evening too. Hearing your stories, hopes and dreams was really inspiring. I even enjoyed the formal interview on the Wednesday as I was so excited by the possibilities in the parish and hopeful God was going to let me have the privilege of serving you.
I am really looking forward to sharing life, ministry and much laughter with you all. I think God has good plans in mind for us all.
As I pray for you now please pray for me too. Telling my church family here in Sunningdale was emotional, it is never easy making your friends cry. But I know I have their prayers and blessings too. Please pray that I am able to finish well here and hand over my responsibilities from this parish.
I hope to be with you all by the summer, but we are waiting for some dates from the Bishop for when the licensing service can be. I am sure Stephen and Tony will keep you all updated.
Finally, thank you to all who have been working on my new house, painting it, tidying it and sorting the garden. That means a lot to me.
With my love and prayers,
